2nd Annual "The Other Side of Latin America" Arts Festival
HOW DID THIS FESTIVAL FIRST BEGIN?
The first edition of the festival l'Autre Amérique latine took place in the framework of the Week of Arts and Media of the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, whose objective is to give value to the initiatives of its students. The original concept of the festival was developed by Gabriela Acosta, who later joined forces with the Salve Selva collective.
During its first edition, the festival featured a series of artistic expressions distributed throughout the Week of Arts and Media, where each artist offered the university public a unique and modern vision of their cultural heritage.
HOW DID THE 2ND EDITION DIFFER?
The second ever Festival l'Autre Amérique Latine was removed from its original on-campus placement to allow for a larger audience. It served as a coproduction between the collectives Salve Selva and Rencontres Culturelles. The festival took place from May 25 to 27, 2018 in La Bellevilloise, and had more than 50 artistic expeditions, from more than 11 countries.
This great variety of artistic endeavors allowed its audience to immersion themselves in the universe of contemporary Latin American culture through painting, dance, music, photography, cinema, tattoos, cooking, and cultural conferences.
